IS IT FAITH IN GOD? OR IS IT “FAITH IN WHAT GOD CAN DO THROUGH YOU?”

“And David perceived that the Lord had established him as king over Israel.”

Dale Mast has written a powerful book, “And David perceived he was king.”  It speaks to a time in the life of David, even after he had defeated Goliath, and after seven and a half years as king of Judah; and after he was anointed as king of Israel; and after numerous victories; he still did not realize who he was; that God had called him to be king.

I know that many of you are in the same place in your life. You have had a measure of success; victories have come, and yet there is still something missing. Why? Because it is easier to believe what God can do, than it is to believe what He can do through us.

I know, you don’t want to take credit for God has done; so when a complement comes you defuse it by saying: “It was not me, it was God.” Ok, that is true, but God cannot do what He wants to do through you, without you!

We all need an identity shift!
Who am I?
I am a child of God. I am a son, or daughter of God.
I am an heir to His Kingdom.
I have the power of God in me.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Jesus is speaking our identity and we must believe it so He can build it in us.
What has He called you to do? You can do it, but you must know who you are.
It takes faith to believe what God can do; but it takes identity to believe He can do it through you.
