Scripture: Proverbs 11:3 – "The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity." In business, your reputation is either a stepping stone or a stumbling block. While others may chase quick wins, you are called to stand firm in righteousness. Let me tell you about Carlos, a general contractor in our community. A wealthy client asked him to inflate an invoice to cover "extra consulting fees." It would’ve been easy money—and untraceable. But Carlos politely declined. He lost that contract, but gained something far greater. Months later, a widow who heard about his honesty hired him to remodel her home. She then referred him to twelve others in her network. His business grew—not by compromise, but by conviction.
That’s Kingdom influence through integrity. When you operate with godly character, people notice. They may not comment out loud, but they trust you more. Integrity is rare in the marketplace—and that's what makes it powerful. It sets you apart not just as a good businessperson, but as a Christlike one. Think about Joseph in the Bible. Even in Pharaoh’s court, far from his homeland, his integrity elevated him. Potiphar trusted him. The prison warden respected him. Pharaoh promoted him. And God was with him every step of the way. Your clients, employees, and vendors may not read the Bible—but they’re reading you. What message are you sending? Here’s a challenge:
So hold your head high. God is watching—not just what you produce, but how you produce it. And when you walk with integrity, you walk with Him. Prayer: Father, help me to be a business owner known for truth and uprightness. Even when it’s costly, may I choose what is right. Use my integrity to open doors that no man can shut and to reflect Your character in every transaction. Amen. Reflection Questions:
