One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers--Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew--throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!" And they left their nets at once and followed him. — Matthew 4:18-20
As you build your business, one of the most important tasks you will face will be building your team. That was also true with Jesus: He had only three years to put a team together that would be able to carry on after He ascended to heaven. And He was building a team that would accomplish something that had never been done before. So, here is a powerful truth: God is calling you with a one of a kind calling as well.
You will need to look for the undiscovered qualities in your team, and then nurture that talent and encourage the growth that will create deep loyalty. Jesus had the ability to see potential in people that others could not see; and He can give you that same ability.
How did Jesus persuade the disciples to join him? No begging, no buttering up. Jesus did not give the disciples false hope or exaggerate their potential. He simply told them that they would remain fishermen but that the bait and the catch would be much more significant.
Jesus built a team that would follow Him unto death. Now He is inviting you to be on His team and to help Him build a city impacting, nation changing business team again. The disciples could not have envisioned themselves as part of future earth-changing events. But you can! Because you have seen what He has done! Let Him do it with you. Build your team by being a part of His team!
