John Wesley famously said: “The world is my parish.” He was being criticized for taking the gospel outside of the local church, but he recognized the need to impact all sectors of society. From the time Jesus spoke the Great Commission until today, God has had a plan to reach the entire world with the gospel. And to do so, He raises up pastors and missionaries, and worship leaders and prayer warriors.
But He is also raising up an army of ministers in the world marketplace. These ministers are passionate about the Kingdom, and are people of integrity and high moral character. They think strategically and creatively about how to impact the world for the Lord. They are called of God and know it, but not in the traditional sense of preaching, teaching or even evangelism as we have known it. They serve the Lord, but not in church offices or mission headquarters. Why? Because they are people like you!
They are called of God to make money—a lot of it. But the money is not only for them and their families. It is to be used to increase the kingdom; to support the work of the local church, to give to world missions. And in addition to that, this wealth gives them influence in the city and nation.
My prayer for you is not only for financial increase, but for the wisdom to use the increase for God’s Kingdom.
