I WILL SEE MY WORK AS MY MINISTRY

“But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk…” I Cor. 7:17

There is research that shows that as high as 80% of Americans are unhappy with their job. Interestingly, the number only goes higher with more pay or even with management or ownership positions. I have found that these statistics remain consistent within the Christian community as well. 

80% unhappy, dissatisfied, wanting a change, wanting a new job, wanting more pay, wanting more recognition; on and on the list goes. Are there that many bad jobs out there? Is there a total breakdown in the American workforce? Or could there be another reason/answer.

I am convinced that with a simple mind shift we can change this paradigm. Reading Genesis 2 may be the key for the Christian worker. We see that the reason for the creation of man was to cooperate with God in the care of His creation. Simply put: you were created to work! When we begin to see work as ministry a major shift comes in our view of our job.

“But God, they lie, steal, cheat and gossip where I work.” Did you ever consider that might be the reason God put you there? You are there to change the atmosphere by bringing the presence of God to the workplace.

Your work is your ministry! Start living with that mindset today and find the satisfaction He wants to give.
