The Power of Obedience

​Every day things happen around us that have an impact on our lives, but often we do not know the full ramification of these things as they happen. The truth is, many opportunities to receive the full blessing of the Lord are missed because of our disobedience. Not disobedience in outward rebellion, but the failure to quickly obey His daily promptings.

One day, a small group of us were walking into a restaurant, when the man in front of me stopped at a table where a couple were enjoying a meal together. He paused briefly, spoke something to them, and then continued on to our table. When I asked what he was doing, he told me the Lord had prompted him to stop and say “God bless you” to the couple. He then explained to me: “If I had not been obedient in that command, how could I expect God to give me a command of greater impact?” 

I asked him, “What is the most important thing you have heard from the Lord?” He answered, “The last thing.” He was explaining the importance of obeying in the simple things so that the Lord can entrust us with big things.

There is a lesson here for you and your business. If you will not listen to the last thing—big or small, strange or normal, within or outside of your comfort zone—why should you think He would direct you when you ask Him for help with your business? There is no doubt He wants to bless your work, but He is looking for obedience!
